Hand luggage packing list: one week, one bag
With a plan, one cabin bag is enough for many trips. Important: size, weight and the rules for liquids and batteries are set by the airline and the airport – they differ and they change.
Mix and match, wash once
Instead of an outfit for every day, choose pieces that go together: 3–4 tops, 2 pairs of trousers (wear one on the journey), a warm layer and a light rain jacket. Underwear and socks for 4–5 days, washed once along the way. The generator with these settings shows the full list.
Liquids
At many airports in the EU, liquids in hand luggage must be in containers of up to 100 ml in a transparent, resealable bag of about one litre. Some airports use newer scanners and allow more – but not everywhere, and not necessarily on your return flight. Check the rules for both airports.
Electronics and batteries
Power banks and spare batteries generally go in your hand luggage, not in checked baggage; some airlines limit their number, capacity or use on board. Keep your laptop and tablet within reach, as you may have to take them out at security.
Saving space
Roll instead of fold, stuff socks into shoes and wear your heaviest clothes on the journey. Packing cubes keep things tidy – see How to pack.
